CultureWorks Active Summer Camp is a movement-centred summer experience where youth build confidence, friendships, leadership skills, and community connection through sport, dance, mentorship, and active play.

Program Overview

Move. Connect. Belong.

Each week of CultureWorks Active Summer Camp is built around a dedicated sport or dance focus — combining sport instruction, dance, physical literacy, leadership development, team challenges, cultural confidence, and community-based recreation.

Campers are grouped by grade to ensure age-appropriate instruction and peer connection. Families can register for one week or multiple weeks depending on their schedule.

Camp Essentials

Who: Youth entering Grades 3–12
When: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Where: The Orange Hub, 10045 156 St NW, Edmonton
Format: Weekly sport and dance camp blocks
Drop-off: Supervised 8:00 – 9:00 AM (quiet activities)
Pick-up: Supervised 4:00 – 5:00 PM (quiet activities)
Fee: $150/week per participant
Weekly Camp Options

Choose Your Week

Each week features a dedicated sport or dance focus — with coaching, skill-building, and team experiences tailored by grade group.

Soccer Skills & Team Play

Dribbling, passing, positioning, and small-sided games. Campers develop coordination, spatial awareness, and teamwork through progressive drills and friendly matches.

Basketball Skills Intensive

Ball handling, shooting form, defensive positioning, and game play. Builds hand-eye coordination, communication, and confidence on the court.

Flag Football & Team Strategy

Route running, flag pulling, play design, and team strategy. Develops agility, decision-making, and collaborative play in a safe, non-contact format.

Hip Hop Dance & Movement

Rhythm, choreography, freestyle, and performance. Builds body awareness, creative expression, and confidence through contemporary movement styles.

Afro-Caribbean Dance & Movement

Traditional and contemporary dance forms rooted in African and Caribbean culture. Builds cultural connection, rhythm, coordination, and expressive confidence.

Grade Streams

Grouped for Growth

Campers are grouped by grade to ensure age-appropriate instruction, peer connection, and progressive development.

Explorers

Grades 3–5

Introduction to sport, movement fundamentals, teamwork, and play-based learning. Emphasis on fun, inclusion, and building a positive relationship with physical activity.

Rising Leaders

Grades 6–8

Skill development, team strategy, peer collaboration, and emerging leadership. Campers take on more responsibility and begin mentoring younger participants.

Leadership Collective

Grades 9–12

Advanced skill-building, leadership roles, mentorship of younger campers, and community engagement. Designed to develop confident, capable young leaders.

Daily Schedule

A Day at Camp

Core programming runs 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Supervised drop-off and pick-up windows are available for families who need flexibility.

Family-friendly: Drop-off and pick-up windows include quiet, supervised activities so families can manage their schedules with confidence.

Funding Support Available

CCACH is a proud KidSport partner. Eligible families may apply for KidSport funding support to help with registration costs. Participants must be registered in the program before applying, and applications must be submitted before the program end date.
